The lack of access to food and clean water claims the lives of thousands daily. Moreover, millions are forced to walk miles every day to obtain these basic essentials for survival. Not only does this put them in immediate danger of various armed groups and acts of persecution, but this also means that elders aren’t able to work and provide care for their families, and that children aren’t able to attend school and earn an education. It is a situation that we have become all too accustomed to reading of in the news, and one that demands immediate attention on a global scale. Accordingly, it is Earth Group’s mandate to donate 100% of their profits to the United Nations World Food Programme. As a corporation, the Earth Group is dedicated to helping these people earn access to the most basic elements needed to sustain human life.
Specifically, we provide children with meals in school. School meals are a simple way of promoting education in some of the most impoverished nations in the world. School meals are proven to increase enrollment and retention rates in school, especially girls. The result is a well fed, educated community which serves to sustain current and future generations.
